About
My name is Catherine, and I am a twenty year old student from New Zealand. Perhaps you know of that country as something like Middle Earth, or perhaps Narnia. As it is all anyone is talking about, in the Harry Potter world, I would be a Hufflepuff: kind, loyal, and just a really nice person.
I passed this horrid thing called NCEA, which replaced the traditional forms of secondary exams, with ease, because that is what NCEA does. I then proceeded to go on to university, where I studied for two years. This year (2007) I returned to living with my parents, and am now undertaking a one year course to leave me with a diploma.
I was a student of archaeology, which leaves me pretty decently informed on a fair number of aspects relating to social anthropology, archaeology, classical history, and generally stuff relating to the Pacific region. Growing up I was also a dinosaur nut, so as you can see, I love old stuff.
The first language besides English I started learning was Mandarin; today all I remember is how to count to eight, and how to say two or three words. When I was twelve, I started learning German, choosing it over French as my grandmother’s family was from Germany (and my grandad dislikes the French). While still learning German (which I would continue through to university), I started learning Latin, but I dropped that after three years.
I discovered the miracles that are computers and the internet in the middle of college (high school, to some), and it was there that I found a calling. In my final year of college, in between prefect duties, and being a librarian, I received some extra training in computers. Of course, that “extra” training was how to use Dreamweaver, but hey, it was a start. And it got me hooked.
So, here I am. Twenty years old, living back at home after being away at university, and wishing I had more time to play Nintendo and Harry Potter Roleplaying games.
