On Poe and (S)Porn

I’m sure you all have heard of that list of poorly chosen domain names, which include things like penisland.net and therapistfinder.com (Infektia has posted the full list on her site if you want to see the rest), but have you, in all your travels, come across a domain name that was just a case of bad luck/poor decision making?

I have.

While my friend and I were cooing over Hugh Dancy, in all his curly haired glory, I discovered that he is providing the voice of Edgar Allan Poe for a new animated movie based on the writer. Delighted by this turn of events, I headed over to their official site, and gleefully listened to him reading Annabel Lee.

It was then that I noticed something horrible, something that chilled my blood and made me shiver.

Okay, so I am being overly dramatic. I actually laughed my head off.

The director of Poe is a man named Michael Sporn. His home on the web? michaelspornanimation.com.

Laugh with me, please, and then tell me of any crazy ones you have found. And also listen to Hugh’s reading. I can’t wait for this film. I wonder if Whitcoulls has any nice copies of Poe’s poems… also, can someone tell me why Firefox’s spellcheck function suggests that the correct spelling of “Whitcoulls” is “bullshit“?

Because Paper Plus > Whitcoulls, duh!

Except for the time they didn’t have any copies of Catcher In The Rye.

Whaaat? Borders reigns supreme over Whitcoulls. Such variety! Inclusion of in-store Gloria Jeans! C’mon now.

I laughed with you by the way ;)

Sadly, I do not have a gift voucher for Borders. Otherwise I would be in there like that.
