As part of my visitor section, I have decided to use my knowledge as a Guide/Brownie Leader and write up some of the games and activities I have used with my girls. These will all be listed under Simple Games for Groups, which can be found in the Visitor section. If you seek clarification, or have any questions, feel free to comment at the bottom.
Please note that the girls I work with are between the ages of 10 and 13, so while you can go up, it may be difficult to go down to younger children.
Oh no! Our team of adventurers have accidentally unleashed a river of acid that eats through anything, and it blocks their path home! All they have are a small number of floating stepping stones which are able to not be destroyed by the acid - so long as they keep in contact with them. Can they manage to get every member of their team across the acid river without losing any limbs or life?

For those who do not know, I live in New Zealand, a country famous for sheep, the All Blacks, climbing Mt Everest, and sheep. In more recent years, we’ve also gained fame as a hotbed for big movie making. And sheep.
New Zealand is an island nation, made up of two main islands (three if you include Stewart), blandly named “North Island” and “South Island”. We have a population of about 4 million people, and about 40 million sheep. So that’s around 10 sheep for me, if you decided to share the sheep out equally. Being an island nation, it costs a lot to get anywhere beyond our borders. A quick glimpse at Air New Zealand’s site tells me that a round trip from Wellington to Los Angeles sometime in May will cost $2,222. In USD, that comes to $1,539.
However, I’m not here to talk about New Zealand. Sorry.
If I were to jump across the ditch ($178 one way) to the West Island Australia, on the other hand, we’d find something different, as well as many things the same.
Australia has a population of around 20 million - five times that of New Zealand - and a heck of a lot more space. It is famous for underarm bowling, the late Steve Irwin, convicts, and sheep.
Although for Australians they do not have to travel as far to get to other countries, it’s still a heck of a long way. And now we shall finally get to the topic of this long-winded blog entry.
Why Australia Needs A Disneyland.
There also needs to be an Amazon.com.au, but that’s another entry.
