The Mac Side Has Cookies

I think I’m going over to the Mac side. Next I’ll be killing younglings and cutting off my own kids’ hands!

I want it I want it I want it!. I also want an iPod, but we already knew that.

I know! If everyone who reads my blog gives me a dollar, I can get that much closer to getting it! That way I will have…. *does math* three whole dollars!

Wait…

Maybe I should ask for that in pounds sterling.

Then I’ll have nine dollars!

I know, I’m so brilliant.

Your Questions Answered

So, I’ve decided to not wait anymore and answer your questions. Hope you find my ramblings interesting.

Rachael asked:

Why are you such a sheep?
Because I ram. Baaaah.

And my serious question : Have you ever shagged a sheep?
Nope. Although unfortunately once, via OTF_Wank, I stupidly read a page on how to have sex with a dolphin. Bye-bye, innocence.

And now for my *actual* serious question : Do you want to shag a sheep?
Nope.

Regarding stereotypes about New Ziggy, which ones are completely false? And which ones do you like to “play up”?

Of the ones you offered…

…Sheep-shagging farmers: Generally we use this joke when talking about Australians. However, we always fire back with “I’d rather shag a sheep than fuck a kangaroo!” if they accuse us of shagging sheep. Both Australia and New Zealand are sheep-shagging nations - we just don’t have anything native to shag.

…who talk funny: You mean the good old “fush and chups” accent? As New Zealand is so multi-cultural, there are accents from so many places in so many people. Generally though, we’re considered to be more closely related - accent and language-wise - to the UK than Australia, though. Australia has gone more American in recent years (according to studies which I don’t have links to to cite, sorry).

I must tell you this one interesting case though: when I was at university, I lived with two girls who had very strong Scottish accents. They’d never been out of New Zealand. They were from Otago, and Dunedin is the Edinburgh of the south.

…less criminal tendencies than the Australians: The roots for this is obvious: Australia was used as a penal colony, while NZ was not. We have our terrible stories - even shooting sprees, if you’re unaware of the Aramoana Massacre and Stanley Graham, and there are, of course, the New Zealand Land Wars.

Plus the ever-present rumours that Lord Lucan is living in NZ with his pet goat.

They are known for sheep: This is true. We have sheep.

… and Lord Of The Rings: Other movies filmed in NZ include Sylvia, Chronicles of Narnia, and Willow. Wellington, where I live, has earned the nickname of Wellywood because of it.

Elaine asked:

What do you think of George W. Bush?
*rude noise*

What are your thoughts on yaoi?
My thoughts, let me show you them.

New Zealand seems to be extremely famous for its beef in Singapore. Your generous tl;dr on this, please?

We’re an agricultural nation, and meat products - lamb and beef - are some of our main exports. You buy it, you eat it.

Is there anything that you would want to change about yourself?

My ass/thighs.

Okay, something that is not a form answer. Two things.

1) I would like to stop biting my nails.

2) I would have my nose fixed. I was in a minor car accident a few years back, and my nose was smashed. It’s healed pretty well, but part of the bridge is sharp/slanted in the wrong direction. It’s not painfully obvious, but I can’t wear sunglasses because of it.

Amanda asked:

Do you ever wish to move away from NZ to the country that’s TRULY the best of the entire Southern Hemisphere - Australia?

Nope. I like New Zealand. I would like to visit Australia more, but I’d always come back to NZ.

Lil asked:

What would be your perfect Sunday?

Well, for starters, not have to go into work early in the morning. Yes, I work Sundays (and Saturday evenings, too…).

But if I could not have to deal with work, I’d start off my Sunday with a pleasant sleep in - not too late, though. I’d spend time on the computer for a bit, and have a relaxing lunch over at my grandparents. I’d spend the rest of the afternoon with friends - maybe watch a movie - and come home for a nice dinner of roast lamb and three vegetables, before spending a little bit of time online/watching TV, and going to sleep. A good Sunday.
