You Have No Knowledge Of The English Language… Despite It Being Your Native Language
You continually misspell words, confuse your/you’re and it’s/its, use an apostrophe to indicate a plural, abandon apostrophes everywhere else… I could go on forever.
You Rape The Thesaurus. Postly.
The thesaurus is yours to use, yes. But not to abuse. You don’t need to exchange every word you use for another to sound more intelligent. Purple prose just makes you look stupid. Extremely incorrect purple prose makes me laugh. At you. A lot.
You Rape Canon/Your Characters Make No Sense
A university professor with barely a high school education? Teenage assassins in a Harry Potter-esque school? Black unicorns in HP? Slavic spirits/creatures (according to you) are now from the south Pacific? University student with barely a primary school education? Reincarnated gods in HP? Pagan ceremonies and skyclad spells (in HP)?
You Have An Ego (A Really Big One)
You are the best RPer. Your characters are the best. It is an honour to RP with you. You do nothing wrong. Everyone wants to RP with you. You are the definitive authority on everything. Your writing is the best…
If we could tear down your ego and build a new Disneyland theme park in its place, you know something’s wrong.

Oh, this is just the beginning. I’ve already got “Five More Reasons” cooking, and probably enough bad experiences to brew up “Another Five Reasons”. It’s just… where do I start?

Aha! Another person who rp’s… I rp, but not in the hp fandom. I rp with a friend every day where we just pick two characters, a setting, and take it from there. I also have a psl with a girl after I left a comm on lj… That’s fun.
I agree with all of the above.
HP is my main fandom (I play in OC-only games though) although I do dabble in others. Pan-fandom, X-Men movieverse. But a lot of those things up there can apply to most things. I only gave a few specific examples for #3, some of which are outside HP, but as I said to Hazael, HP RP brings the suck.
Right now I’m not RPing anywhere in particular, partially because I’m swamped with assignments, and partially because a friend and I are still building two boards.
I tend to do more ‘band’ stuff… My rp’ing stemmed from writing fic (I’m a mod on http://community.livejournal.com/slash_theplan), and I actually think rp’ing has helped me with writing fics. Yay.
