Eyebrows Of Doom
Have you ever been somewhere in public - walking, on a bus or what have you - when you have seen something or someone which you can’t help but stare at? Or at least, struggle not to stare at? Well, today was one of those days, and the reason I was trying not to stare at someone was because of… their eyebrows.
Although I have not sucumbed to vanity and plucked/waxed my eyebrows, I know enough about the idea as to what not to do when it comes to modifyig them.
Today, as I got on the bus there was a young woman, perhaps a little older than myself, who had gone a little overboard on the plucking. Instead of having nicely shaped eyebrows and looking a little like Gemma Ward, she instead looked perpetually surprised. In fact, I would not be surprised if she had simply drawn on a line with pencil where the eyebrow should have been.
Yes, it looked that fake and that terrible.
I love my natural and slightly bushy eyebrows. At least I don’t look like a surprised weirdo all the time.
To-Do Lists
If there is one thing that I have been doing a lot of in the past few months, it is making lists. Not shopping lists, not notes for university or whatever, it is to-do lists.
Now, while there is no stopping me when it comes to making these to-do lists, the problem is that I never really get to complete anything that’s on that list. Like today in class, I wrote a half-dozen things, and knowing me, it won’t ever get completed. Le sigh.
Of course, my brain immediately wandered over to the creation of a new list, with regards to this blog here. As a part of class, we were instructed to start a blog, in order to improve our writing, and so I am taking up that challenge. Although I already had a LiveJournal, I am wanting to do something a bit more than the occassional, “And today I did this, and saw this person and we did this etc etc” nonsense.
So, my latest to-do list is going to be short.
- At least once a week, write a blog entry that is “interesting” or “thought-provoking” or “mentally stimulating”.
- Once a month, write a review for a book, movie or CD that I have read/watched/listened to recently.
And that is that. Wish me luck.
